2020 marked a huge change in the World we knew. Today, many of us sit at home in self isolation, far from the normal everyday. I must admit although I miss the daily routines, working and meeting your beautiful babies, I am certainly enjoying the quiet family time I am getting. I initially stopped all sessions when the government announced a state of emergency in Ontario back in March. Newborns are susceptible to infectious diseases and as much as we love photography we love your babies more. I normally recommend newborn sessions are done within the first 14 days as babies are more sleepy and less alert but what now if they cannot be seen during this time?
In my 6 years as a newborn photographer I have captured many many images of newborns ranging from less than 14 days all the way up to 11weeks. It is true that the sessions do require more patience and less moving baby around but it can be done later. All newborn sessions I had booked were postponed and I asked my clients to send me some images of their babies given the advice I sent via email. I wanted to make sure you all got beautiful images of your babies in this early stage as when they are seen in studio, the overall look may be different so I created a few composites with the images sent. The best shots were clear ones of baby facing the camera, camera pointed nose to nose with the baby rather than on an upward angle. It was a challenge working with images not shot by me or in studio but I am so glad I was able to make them work. I cannot wait until this is over and we can go back to life as normal but for now let's keep our city, our county, our world safe. Check out some beautiful images from a loyal client of mine of her precious baby girl born March 31st. I cannot wait to meet her!
If you'd like to book a newborn session with me for when our state of emergency has been removed please email me: info@pmphotography.ca and we can chat about the process and how I can create some beautiful composites for you as well.
